What’s New This Week?

Week 2 brings new Trax samples available in the catalogue, letting you capture the essence of Disco, and the Jukebox! Use these beats to create a track that transports us back to the dance floors of the 70s.

The Competition

To participate in Week 2 of the Trax Mixdown competition, create your Disco-themed track on a Traxmachine and burn it to a CD. Remember to add “TX2” as a prefix to your track’s name, like “TX2 – Disco Inferno”, to ensure it’s counted for this week. Make sure to stick closely to the Disco genre, as submissions will be judged on style, quality, and creative use of the provided samples. Submit your track by 10:59 PM GMT on November 17 to compete for rare prizes, including plaques, credits, and an exclusive badge for the top 10 entries. All Trax items are available in the catalogue under the Trax section or on the web shop.

Important Rules

  • Maximum track length: 60 seconds.
  • Use any number of samples; no need to limit yourself to 4.
  • Stick to the genre: Disco only.
  • Judging criteria include genre adherence, track quality, and sample integration.

Fun Facts:

  • Some of these songs secretly use more than four tracks - some have six, some have eight. Some even include sound samples that were never released in a sample set! As a result, if you try to copy the code for these songs, they won’t load in our editor.
  • The song “About VIP Now” was renamed to “About HC Now”. The theory is that Origins never had the VIP Club… or that the original name was indeed “About HC Now”, but at some point in Habbo’s history, the HC Club was temporarily replaced with the VIP Club. During that period, everything with “HC” in the name or description was changed to “VIP”. Let us known if you remember this!
  • The CDs sold in Habbo shop are parodies of real-life music hits! At least their title and author name, are reference to popular songs and artists. You can check that out here (we’ll create a dedicated page for this soon).

For this week’s Funky Friday, we have the American Idol version of the Jukebox available for 20c. It’s not officially named this way because it wasn’t another partnership with the show, so in-game it’s simply called “Jukebox”. The issues affecting all Jukeboxes persist, although they have already been addressed by the developers and are pending release.
